Modern technology has brought with it many changes to the way all of us do many different things. Back in the 1980’s, I was the proud owner of an electric golf ball typewriter. It was the best that was available at the time and I think it cost around $1,000. But now, a complete computer system with an ink jet printer would cost far less relatively and produce far better results.
Before the days of digital cameras, cameras had film which was developed and prints were made from this film on special light sensitive silver halide coated photographic paper.
Most people these days print off their own photos using ink jet printers. The process is much faster and much cheaper. However, the quality of the final product does not come close to the quality of silver halide prints.
Ink jet prints will in time fade, whereas silver halide prints have a much longer life and greater colour intensity.
The technology has gone a full circle so to speak. Machines are now available which will convert digital images from a digital camera to be printed on light sensitive silver halide paper.
The downside is that these machines are very expensive, (currently around the $200,000.00 mark) ..., but the results ... “gold standard” quality!
The prints we supply to our clients are silver halide prints. They are printed with a Kodak machine on quality Kodak endura paper. The prices below are for runs from the one photo shoot of 36 or more prints.
six inch by four inch prints - AU$3.00 each (five or more prints $2.00 each)
five inch by seven inch prints - AU$5.00 each (five or more prints $3.50 each)
After receiving your prints, there may be some that you would like enlarged to perhaps be framed. We can supply eight inch by twelve inch prints singly for the price of AU$12.00 each. This price is reduced to $10.00 each if five or more prints are ordered at the same time. These prints can be of different subjects.
All prints will be printed on Matt enduro paper, unless gloss is requested. Gloss is available only for the six inch by four inch prints.
Postage is of course an extra cost to the prices quoted above.
